Spring

The last of winter fades away
pastels inhale bits of gray
green lace replaces barren bark
Summers candle now has spark.

I want to be a poet so I searched the internet

I found out all the things that you should do

and I'm upset.

It seems that rhymes are too "sing-song,"

often considered "stale,"

so if that's all I like to write,

I guess I'm gonna' fail.

I like to read poetic rhymes, am I the only one,

funny, but I always thought they sounded kinda fun.

I dont know much 'bout Stanza's,

and all that's poetically correct,

so does that mean my poetry will be held in disrespect?

Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven," that was a success,

"Paul Reveres Ride," by Longfellow,

not poetically distressed,

"Renascence," by Millay,

Frost's "The Road Not Taken,"

none of these were stale at all,

the "sing song" did not shake them

I guess I'll never make it big,

cause rhyming is my thing.

I suppose I'm little more than just

a wild poetic left wing,

but if your reading this

and it's not making you go "yuck,"

then I guess rhyming's not all bad

and "sing song" doesn't always suck!!.
