Forgotten~Featuring Mary Ann Potter

Photograph by Mary Ann Potter

Passing into time
rushing through
shades of deep green
hues of bright blue

pathway for play
finished fun
aged into yellow
disowned by the sun

  1. "disowned by the sun" is a wonderful way to end a lovely poem like this. You chose a photo I wanted to use, but couldn't think how. Thanks for this.

  2. I'm so honored that you used this photo for your prompt! I took it along the creek on our farm, one of my favorite places to walk, and used a texture by Jerry Jones to give it this feel. Then you completed it with your lovely poem. Thanks! 8-)

  3. Ooh, this is really nice:

    "aged into yellow
    disowned by the sun"

  4. Nice play of words...I also like the last line too ~

  5. I love how you used the colors to bring it life!

  6. Oh I love "disowned by the sun"......I also really enjoyed your I Want to Be a Poet poem on the left side, especially the closing lines:)

  7. Hi, I came back to tell you that you have linked your blog Home page to Real Toads and not this specific poem - which means that readers may have a hard time finding the one that goes with the prompt. This can be fixed by clicking on the title of the poem you want to share and then copying the URL. Hope this helps.

  8. Lovely, I also wrote for this pic. :)

  9. I too love "disowned by the sun" nice work

  10. well...you made these words dance - well done indeed.

  11. disowned by the sun is a bit haunting... perhaps on a hot summer day that is a good thing, though. This leaves me a bit sad...
